Craig Sager to undergo third bone marrow transplant Wednesday
TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager will undergo his third bone marrow transplant in as many years on Wednesday, his son announced Tuesday.
Sager was first diagnosed with leukemia in 2014. He went into remission after a first bone marrow transplant but the disease returned in March 2015. He received a second transplant in 2015, and by March of 2016, he was no longer in remission.
Sager was scheduled to report on basketball from the Rio Olympics earlier this summer, but missed the games to undergo further treatment.
A longtime fixture on NBA sidelines, Sager has worked for Turner Sports for over two decades. In June, Sager was a sideline reporter during an NBA Finals game for the first time in his career.
