Watch: Cavaliers receive championship rings, raise banner
The Cleveland Cavaliers received their championship rings before defeating the New York Knicks 117–88 on Tuesday night.
The Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warrior in seven games of the NBA Finals. LeBron James was named the NBA Finals MVP.
James finished Tuesday night's season opener with his 43rd career triple-double as he posted 19 points and added 11 rebounds and 14 assists. Kyrie Irving led the team with 29 points.
The rings feature the Cavaliers’ “C” wrapped around the Larry O’Brien trophy on one side and the Cleveland skyline on the opposite side. Owner Dan Gilbert promised to give rings to all employees including ushers and stadium chefs.
