Core Five NBA DFS Plays for October 23

NBA DFS expert Chris Rose gives his top plays for the first big slate of the NBA season.

Chris Rose is a former Division I football player at Central Connecticut, where he won two conference champions. Rose qualified for a seat in the FanDuel WFBC final in San Diego this year and has won $35K thus far in 2019. Last year, he won over $70K. Rose plays high-stakes games, and predominantly GPPs about 98% of the time.

NBA opening night is in the books, as the Raptors and Pelicans kicked off the season, followed by the showdown in Los Angeles between the Clippers and Lakers.

Tonight, the NBA really tips off, as there is a much bigger slate of action. With 11 games on tap, NBA fans should prepare for an exciting night. More than half of tonight's games have 215-point implied totals, which translates to tons of production from some of the league's biggest stars. In my five core plays, I'm providing you five players who I think you should build your lineups around. Try to get as many of these players into your lineups as possible. These five ballers are not necessarily superstars, but they all have a reason for making the list, whether it be the matchup, a key injury or the price. So without further ado, here are my five core NBA DFS plays for Wednesday, October 23.

C Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons (DK: $8,400 / FD: $10,100)

With Blake Griffin out to start the season, Drummond steps into a monster spot tonight against Indiana. Last season, the Pacers gave up 41.6 FPPG to big men, while allowing 10.8 rebounds per game. Let's not forget about Drummond's 69-point game the last time these two teams met.

PG Thomas Satoransky, Chicago Bulls (DK: $5,300 / FD: $5,000)

The former Washington Wizard takes over the starting point guard role in Chicago. Satoransky is a big point guard who can rebound, and facilitates well from the top of the key. Facing Terry Rozier, who's not a great defender, Satoransky should easily hit value in his Bulls debut considering his modest 5K price tag on FanDuel.

PF Marvin Bagley, Sacramento Kings (DK: $7,200 / FD: $8,000)

Bagley's unfortunately expensive tonight, but for good reason. Harry Giles is out tonight, a player who would eat into Bagley's minutes so we can expect at least 32 minutes of playing time from the second-year stud. Bagley averaged 40-plus FPPG over his last two games against the Suns last season. Phoenix also allowed 32.5 FPPG and 7.5 rebounds per game last season to opposing power forwards. Bagley will shine tonight.

PF / C Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat (DK: $7,000 / FD: $6,900)

Finally a chance for the big man to get considerable run inside for Miami now that Hasan Whiteside has moved to the Trail Blazers. Memphis gave up 35.9 FPPG to center's last season (Adebayo is listed as a PF for now). This is a smash spot for the big man, especially being priced moderately to start the season.

SF Kelly Oubre, Phoenix Suns (DK: $5,600 / FD: $5,500)

He's the guy to run back with Bagley. Oubre looked really good in preseason, while Sacramento gave up almost six field goals per game to opposing small forwards. Oubre played big minutes for Phoenix last season, and at only 5.5K on FanDuel, hitting 5x is well within reach.
