Clippers’ Offer Included Terance Mann, Luke Kennard, More for Kyrie Irving, per Report

Details are beginning to emerge regarding the Clippers’ offer to Brooklyn for Kyrie Irving.

The Nets reportedly traded Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks on Sunday for a package that included Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and future draft picks.

There were several bidders for the services of Irving, who became disenchanted with his situation in Brooklyn and requested a trade late last week in hopes of being moved before Thursday’s trade deadline. One of the suitors was the Clippers, who offered Luke Kennard, Terance Mann, a future first-round pick and two future first-round pick swaps, according to a report from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

O’Connor noted that additional salary would have needed to be included in the deal to acquire Irving, but that the core of the package would have been Mann, Kennard and the draft compensation.

Brooklyn reportedly elected to take the deal with the Mavericks and now add two veteran players to the rotation as well as intriguing future draft picks. The Mavericks get Irving, who has always been an elite scorer. If Irving and Luka Dončić are able to coexist, it could lead to one of the league’s premier offensive backcourts.
