Kyrie Irving Deleted Apology for Amplifying Antisemitic Film

The new Dallas guard has not spoken about why he deleted the post from November.

Shortly after Kyrie Irving received a suspension from the Nets in November for his promotion of an antisemitic book and film on social media, the guard posted an apology on Instagram to Jewish families and communities.

On Tuesday, though, The Athletic's Sam Amick pointed out that Irving’s Instagram apology has since been deleted. It’s unclear at this time why Irving deleted the post, and exactly when he did it.

Irving was traded to the Mavericks on Sunday, and Dallas has yet to address Irving’s antisemitic comments from a few months ago.

Here is the post from November, which has now been deleted from Irving’s personal Instagram page:

"To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize."

The Nets required Irving to follow a series of steps before his suspension ended back in November. One of those requirements was to post an apology on social media, but the team also wanted him to apologize to the media in person.

Irving’s apology on Instagram was significant at the time, because he never fully apologized for his comments in person. A few times, he declined to apologize for sharing the antisemitic content on social media.
