Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered an injury to his right knee late in the first quarter and will not return to the Bucks’ game against the Heat on Friday.

Antetokounmpo played a little more than six minutes in Friday’s game inside Fiserv Forum before he knocked knees with a Heat player. The two-time NBA MVP immediately asked for a timeout and went straight to the locker room, finishing with four points, four assists and four rebounds.

The 28-year-old missed 11 games earlier this season with an injury to his left knee. More recently, Antetokounmpo returned to the hardwood against Miami after previously spraining his right wrist in the Bucks’ 112–100 victory against the Bulls on Feb. 16, the franchise’s final game before the NBA All-Star break.

During the league’s recent All-Star Weekend in Utah, Antetokounmpo wore a wrap around his wrist in Sunday’s game. The seven-time All-Star scored two points in his team’s eventual 184–175 victory.

Antetokounmpo has averaged a career-high 31.8 points, along with 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 48 starts this season. Milwaukee (41–17) entered Friday’s game riding a 12-game win streak and sit only one game behind the Celtics (43–17) for first place in the East.

Milwaukee will host the Suns on Feb. 26 and go on the road to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Feb. 28.
