LeBron James was away from the Lakers while rehabbing the foot injury that's expected to keep him out for much of the remainder of the regular season. On Sunday, head coach Darvin Ham provided an update on James’s injury, indicating that the superstar is progressing as expected.

"Everything is going according to plan," said Ham of James’s foot injury.

LeBron returned to the team for Sunday's game against the Knicks, though he remained out of action, and figures to be out a while longer. Still, there's reason for optimism in LA.

According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the 38-year-old was seen at the game without a walking boot on his injured foot. That comes after he was seen wearing a boot earlier in March after sustaining the injury.

James’s last appearance came on Feb. 26 against the Mavericks. He injured his foot during the second half of the game after attempting to attack the basket and did not return.

On March 2, the Lakers indicated the 19-time All-Star would be re-evaluated in three weeks, and Ham’s comments suggest James remains on course for that timeline. Injuries have limited James to 47 of the Lakers’ 68 games this season. Including Sunday’s game against the Knicks, the four-time MVP has missed the last seven games, and he’s due to miss more still.

Los Angeles has kept its playoff hopes alive amid James’s absence, and the team will hope to get a further positive update on his injury when he’s re-evaluated later this month.
