Hawks’ Dejounte Murray Appears to Bump Referee After Game 4

The 2022 All-Star could get in some trouble for this with Atlanta on the brink of elimination.

The Hawks are already in dire enough shape as is. Atlanta is down 3–1 in its first round playoff series against the Celtics after taking a 129–121 loss Saturday evening in the Peach State.

However, guard Dejounte Murray may have compounded the Hawks' problems after the game.

Murray was filmed appearing to bump into a referee in the game's dying seconds, as Boston finished off a win in which he scored 23 points, pulled down nine rebounds and gave out six assists. The 2022 All-Star crossed the court and appeared to make pronounced contact with referee Gediminas Petraitis before teammates and coaches ushered him into the locker room.

The series has been a frustrating one for Murray and Atlanta, who have struggled to crack the Celtics despite Murray averaging 26 points per game—second in the series behind Boston forward Jayson Tatum.

Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday evening at TD Garden.
