Report: Heat’s Tyler Herro Targeting Return for Game 3 of NBA Finals
The Heat did their job Monday evening, blasting the Celtics 103–84 in Boston to become the second No. 8 seed to reach the NBA Finals.
Now, Miami may be getting critical help ahead of its coming battle with the Nuggets.
Heat guard Tyler Herro is expected back during the Finals and will most likely make his return for Game 3 in Miami, according to a Monday night report from Chris Haynes of TNT.
Herro has not played since breaking his hand during Game 1 of Miami's upset of the Bucks in the first round on April 16. In his absence, the Heat have dispatched Milwaukee, the Knicks and Boston to author one of the most unlikely runs in NBA history.
Before Game 7, Herro told reporters he would not play despite pregame speculation.
Herro—the Sixth Man of the Year in 2022—averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in the regular season to go with a league-leading .934 free-throw percentage.
