Suns Host Free Agent Workout Featuring Jabari Parker, per Report
The Suns have made plenty of headlines in recent months, specifically with the blockbuster move to acquire Kevin Durant. They didn’t slow down heading into the offseason, proceeding to strike a trade with the Wizards for star guard Bradley Beal.
But with the Suns adding the Durant-Beal tandem to Devin Booker to form one of the most lethal scoring trios in recent memory, it obviously comes at a high cost. Additionally, center Deandre Ayton is heading into the second year of a four-year, $132.9 million contract extension.
Following Phoenix’s moves to create the NBA’s newest big three, one the biggest looming question has been how the team will fill out its roster. From the early reports, it seems they’re considering targeting some players looking for a fresh start.
To wit, the Suns will hold a free agent workout Wednesday that will include former No. 2 draft pick Jabari Parker and ex-Lakers forward Stanley Johnson, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
Parker, a power forward who hasn’t played since the 2021-22 season with the Celtics, has averaged 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds over eight NBA seasons. After averaging double digits in scoring through his first six NBA seasons, he was limited by injuries and played just 25 games total in 2020-21 and 2021-22.
