Lakers–Nuggets, Suns–Warriors Will Open 2023–24 NBA Season, per Report
It’s almost time for the 2023–24 NBA regular season and on Thursday, basketball fans got a glimpse at the league’s opening night schedule for the upcoming campaign.
According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the new league year will tip off with a fantastic doubleheader slate featuring two intriguing matchups on Oct. 24. In the opener, LeBron James and the Lakers will travel to Denver to face off against the defending champion Nuggets at Ball Arena.
In the nightcap, the Suns will head to the Bay Area to take on Stephen Curry and the high-powered Warriors in a battle between Western Conference foes.
Both games will air on TNT.
The Lakers vs. Nuggets showdown is a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals, which witnessed Nikola Jokić sweep Los Angeles on the strength of Denver’s all-around big man who averaged an impressive 27.8 points, 14.5 rebounds and 11.8 assists per game over the four games.
The second matchup on the slate will feature Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant forming a new “big three” in Phoenix that will look to take down a new Warriors backcourt featuring Chris Paul teaming up with Curry and Klay Thompson.
