In this story:

It’s been quite a week for James Harden and the 76ers

First, the 76ers announced that they had ended trade talks with teams involving their former All-Star guard. Next, Harden told a crowd of fans in China that team executive Daryl Morey was “a liar” and that he’d never play for an organization associated with him.

Harden then spoke with local television in Houston and said that he thought his relationship with the 76ers franchise was beyond repair.

Now, NBA reporter Marc Stein says that there is a push for the league to re-investigate the 76ers after Harden claimed Morey was a liar and what specifically Morey might’ve lied about.

“There are now calls for the league to re-investigate Philly again to try to assess what Morey allegedly lied to Harden about,” Stein wrote on his Substack. “If Harden is suggesting that the Sixers made some sort of contractual promise last summer—which the team has adamantly denied and maintains it was already cleared of doing—they will certainly be subject to league discipline.”

Just when everyone thought the saga couldn’t get any more dramatic, it seems that the animosity between the two sides could be in for another turn sooner rather than later.
