Add Reggie Miller to the growing list of NBA greats, both past and present, with a strong opinion on the ongoing public dispute between James Harden and 76ers president Daryl Morey.

The NBA Hall of Famer and current NBA on TNT analyst described Harden’s issues with Morey and the Sixers as “sad to see” during a Friday appearance on NBA TV. Miller, who played his entire 18-year career with the Pacers, also cited the pair’s documented relationship dating back to Harden’s nine years with the Rockets, where Morey was general manager and the star guard won MVP in 2018.

“Now, we’re getting a front row seat to some of the conversations between them, and it’s sad because James Harden and Daryl Morey, they share the same success,” Miller said. “James Harden was a MVP in Houston under Daryl Morey’s watch, so, it’s sad to see.”

While Harden’s issues with Morey remain at the forefront, Miller decided to also offer another perspective on the situation by expressing his confusion in Harden seemingly no longer wanting to play with reigning MVP Joel Embiid by wanting out of the organization.

Miller continued, “I cannot think of another guy wanting to get out from playing with the MVP, think about that? … Have you ever heard of someone not wanting to play with an MVP?”

With the tensions continuing to escalate, it’s likely Miller won’t be the last to comment on what appears to be turning into a drawn-out situation with Harden reportedly not planning to attend training camp.

In the last few weeks, the issues Harden had with Morey and 76ers brass over not receiving an extension and having his trade request granted have escalated on a more public scale since the 10-time All-Star called Morey a “liar” in a strong statement on Aug. 14. The NBA has since launched an investigation into Harden’s comments.
