Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. is alleged to have inflicted serious injuries upon his girlfriend in an attack early Monday, prosecutors said at his Tuesday arraignment.

Prosecutors alleged that Porter Jr. left former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick with “a fractured neck vertebra and a deep cut above her right eye,” according to a report of the arraignment from the Associated Press.

Porter, 23, is facing charges of felony assault and strangulation in Manhattan after being apprehended Monday.

The USC product is in his fourth season in the NBA and third with Houston, which released a statement Monday saying it was “in the process of gathering information surrounding the matter involving Kevin Porter Jr.” and would not comment any further.

Gondrezick, 26, played 19 games for the Fever in 2021 after a four-year college career spent with Michigan and West Virginia.

Per prosecutors, Gondrezick has said that Porter punched her repeatedly, opening a gash above her right eye. She said that Porter then put his hands around her neck, causing breathing difficulties.

Neither party has commented on the allegations to this point.
