Pacers, Buddy Hield Start Talks About Finding a Possible Trade, per Report
The Pacers and guard Buddy Hield will reportedly begin looking for potential trade destinations, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Sources told Charania that there are no specific discussions with any teams yet, although Hield is interested in being traded.
This all comes after the Pacers reportedly offered the guard an extension, but Hield did not sign it. A potential move involving the 30-year-old wasn’t expected until next offseason as he enters the 2023–24 season on the last year of his contract.
Hield played for the Pacers for the last season and a half, and trade talks surrounded him for much of the last two years. The Lakers considered bringing in Hield during the 2021–22 campaign, but instead picked up Russell Westbrook. Then, the Lakers expressed interest in Hield again last offseason, but nothing came to fruition.
Last season with the Pacers, Hield finished with averages of 16.8 points, five rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
