NBA Fans Couldn’t Stop Laughing at Anthony Davis Being Compared to a McDonald’s Milkshake Machine

This was quite an analogy from FS1’s Colin Cowherd.

After a disappointing start to his 2023-24 season, Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd came up with a hilarious analogy for Lakers star Anthony Davis’ inconsistencies.

Davis has been under fire from the media after an underwhelming performance on opening night, held scoreless in the second half against the Nuggets on Tuesday en route to just a 17-point performance. That drew the ire of Cowherd, who used the perfect comparison to criticize the Lakers star.

“Generally, NBA superstars are not like the milkshake machine at McDonald’s, where when it works, it’s amazing, but it’s about 50-percent of the time,” Cowherd said. “That’s how it works for ‘B’ players, but you get that with Anthony Davis. Sometimes you go through the drive-thru, it’s just not working.”

In Cowherd’s eyes, Davis’ inconsistencies keep him from being in the same conversation as other superstars.

“He’s a very rare historical superstar. He’s great occasionally. Magic, Bird, LeBron, Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Steph, you kind of know what you’re getting 90 percent of the time,” Cowherd said. “If a guy generally averages 27 [points] per night, you get 27 [points] per night. With AD, it could be 40, then 13.”

Fans loved the comparison.
