Victor Wembanyama put on a dazzling performance for the Spurs on Friday night, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in an overtime win over the Rockets. It was the first regular season win of Wembanyama's NBA career.

It was a breakout game for the young rookie, but Wembanyama’s night still came with a lesson from head coach Gregg Popovich, who with about a minute left in the game, gave his new player a scolding.

After the game, Wembanyama was asked about the moment of tough coaching from Popovich, and said he absolutely deserved it.

"I forgot a play," Wembanyama told reporters after the game. “I forgot one play that we added today actually. It’s a rookie mistake. 100% legitimate for him to yell at me in that moment. I apologized after the game.”

Given how Wembanyama is playing on the court, he's not likely to need to do much apologizing this season.

The Spurs are back in action on Sunday night, traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers.
