Heat’s Jimmy Butler Responds to Chants From T’Wolves Fans by Blowing Kisses to Crowd
Jimmy Butler is gone but certainly not forgotten in the eyes of Timberwolves fans. And when the Heat traveled to Minnesota on Saturday night, a game in which Butler sat out due to rest on the second half of a back-to-back, the fans made sure to let their former star hear it during the 106-90 victory.
With around two minutes remaining in the game, fans began to chant "Where is Jimmy" at Butler, who was seated on the bench in street clothes. Butler embraced it by smiling immediately, and shortly after stood up and blew kisses to the crowd, who decided to play nice and show him some love after.
Butler spent less than two seasons with the Timberwolves, playing 59 games in 2017-18 and just 10 in 2018-19 prior to being traded to the 76ers. He had a tumultuous finish to his tenure in Minnesota, which included him reportedly leading the third-stringers to a win over the starters in practice, letting the first unit hear about it, and then walking straight out of practice afterward.
After finishing his lone season with Philadelphia, he proceeded to land with the Heat via a four-team sign and trade. Butler is entering his fifth season with Miami and has led them to the NBA finals twice and the Eastern Conference finals once in four years.
