Steph Curry Addresses Dillon Brooks’s ‘Reputation’ After Putting Him in a Blender

Stephen Curry made the play of the night in the NBA on Sunday, but it was his reaction to the ridiculous showcase of talent and skill—which left Dillon Brooks in his rearview mirror—that truly made the moment. The viral clip featured Curry juking Brooks three times within the span of about two seconds and ended with the Warriors star giving his best Home Alone impression.

Curry was asked about the moment after the game against the Rockets when speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area, and he provided a candid, yet humble answer.

“We know what he [Brooks] is about and his reputation. I don’t get caught up in that. I just play basketball. So, you obviously let the game do the talking. … There’s a lot of history with him particularly. At the end of the day, you just hoop. And the results speak for themselves, and I like to have fun out here, especially fourth quarter when it’s winning time,” Curry said.

The statement from Curry stood out, specifically the aspect of knowing “what he’s about and his reputation.” Although he didn’t go into specifics, it’s difficult to forget that Brooks committed an extremely physical flagrant-two foul on Gary Payton II last season, which led to the Warriors guard suffering a fractured elbow.

Curry and Co. got the best of Brooks and Houston on this night, winning 106-95, as the 35-year-old finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists while knocking down 6 of 14 attempts from beyond the arc.
