James Harden ‘Ecstatic’ Over Clippers Trade, May Attend Tuesday's Game vs. Magic, per Report
The James Harden saga in Philadelphia came to an end overnight, and the star guard is getting his wish.
Harden was traded to the Clippers in the overnight hours on Tuesday morning, along with veteran P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev in exchange for Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, K.J. Martin, a 2028 unprotected first-round draft pick, two second-round selections and a pick swap, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Harden is reportedly ecstatic over being dealt to the Clippers, where he will now team up with Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in a destination he was seeking all summer. According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, there’s a chance that Harden is in attendance on the bench for Tuesday’s home game against the Magic.
As for the 76ers, the team now has a team filled with assets and multiple draft picks that it can package in a separate deal to improve the team around star Joel Embiid.
After talking for much of the summer about a Harden trade, the two sides found finally found common ground that made sense for both franchises.
