He claims he's merely carrying on a family tradition.

A quarter-century ago, in 1998, Bulls guard Michael Jordan and forward Scottie Pippen stood atop the sports world. That year, the pair wrapped up their sixth NBA title in an eight-year span, cementing themselves as one of 20th-century sports's greatest dynasties.

In the 25 years since that title, it's safe to say their relationship has taken a different direction.

It has changed, in fact, such that the following sentence is now plausible: Jordan’s son Marcus wants his father to be the best man when he marries Larsa Pippen, Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife.

You read that correctly. Marcus discussed the subject on journalist Pablo Torre's eponymous YouTube show, Pablo Torre Finds Out, Tuesday morning.

“I was the best man at [my dad’s] wedding, and I was the best man at my brother’s wedding,” Marcus said. “Obviously, we’ll keep that tradition going, is my thoughts on it.”

In August, Marcus said a wedding was “in the works,” a phrase he used again Tuesday.

Marcus Jordan played basketball collegiately for UCF from 2010 to ’12. Larsa Pippen, who divorced Scottie in 2021, stars on The Real Housewives of Miami on Bravo.
