NBA In-Season Tournament’s Colorful Courts Debut to Very Mixed Reviews
After drawing little fanfare upon being unveiled on Monday, the NBA’s colorful in-season tournament floors made their anticipated(?) debut on Friday night.
The customized courts coincided with the start of the inaugural tournament league-wide, with the Cavaliers-Pacers game in Indiana kicking off the proceedings. But, while Day 1 of the tournament sparked plenty of excitement, the new-look arenas were, again, a subject of debate among NBA fans.
Much like the first look four days prior, the glaringly bright courts and their wide array of designs garnered very mixed reviews online, with most trying to sort through what they were witnessing and some others on-board with the new wave.
With Friday marking the tournament’s opening night, the initial reactions indicate the specialized floors for the competition, which ends in early December, may take a little longer for fans to get used to.
