NBA Fans Were Fawning Over the Rockets’ New Court

The Rockets unveiled the team’s new city edition court this week, and fans were calling for it to become Houston’s permanent court design.

Toyota Center’s court showcases a new logo—an astronaut dunking a basketball. The astronaut is red with a blue outline. This design pays homage to the city of Houston and its history with space. The court is part of the NBA’s “Hometown Heroes” theme this season.

The Rockets will wear a jersey with “H-Town” written across the front of it for certain games this season, including Wednesday night’s matchup vs. the Lakers.

Wednesday night marked the debut of the court and the uniforms, hence why there was such a big social media reaction to the design that night. There are 13 games designated for Houston to sport the logo throughout the 2023–24 season, so this won’t be the only time fans get to see the design.
