Prior to Tuesday night's Lakers-Grizzlies showdown in the NBA's In-Season Tournament, the Lakers' social media team shared a video of star LeBron James testing the new home court at Crypto.com Arena.

James is seen in the clip testing the new floor by squeaking his sneakers on the hardcourt for 56 seconds.

The court features a vibrant purple stripe highlighting the middle of the court while the remainder of the hardwood floor colored in yellow.

While it looked like NBA's all-time leading scorer was testing out the squeakiness of the new court, what he was really focused on was how his shoes were gripping the new surface. When the soles grip well, they squeak. If they fail to make the noise, players may slip and fall more easily.

While many NBA fans found James' actions to be astute, others simply found the squeak test to be maniacally comical.
