Mavericks’ Jason Kidd Had Fiery NSFW Response to Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving Question
Jason Kidd officially appears to be sick and tired of the negative vibes and/or concerns surrounding the Mavericks’ pairing of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving. Or, at the very least, he’s ready to read some positive stuff about how well the team’s two stars have looked playing together this season.
Kidd was asked about the partnership of Dončić and Irving following a 121–115 victory over the Rockets on Tuesday night, a game in which the duo combined to score 68 points (41 for Dončić, 27 for Irving). And his response certainly didn’t disappoint as he fired back with a NSFW answer to the question.
“As you just mentioned, they’re one of the best, if not the best in clutch time,” Kidd said. “But that was a big thing you guys wanted to make a big deal about last year. But you’re not making a big deal about it this year, because s---’s going good. So, write some positive s---,” Kidd said.
The reporter responded by stating that he “just asked a question” to Kidd, to which the Mavericks coach fired back, “I’m giving you a f—ing answer.”
“It’s alright to write positive stuff, people will read your positive s---, you don’t always have to be negative. The world’s already negative enough, right? So, let’s see some positive stuff on some positive people that are doing their job on a nightly basis,” Kidd continued.
The clip ended with Kidd insinuating that we shouldn’t “go back to last year” and instead focus on this season before he got up, told the media to have a good night and walked off.
While the topic of Dončić and Irving will always remain an interesting one, Kidd has a valid reason to be a bit frustrated with negativity on the topic. The Mavericks currently boast an 11–6 record and sit as the No. 3 seed in a tough Western Conference, only two games back of the No. 1 team, the Timberwolves.
