Home Alone is one of most popular movies to watch during the holiday season.

The classic Christmas film premiered in 1990, the same year future Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas captured his second NBA championship.

Thomas, who appeared in three consecutive NBA Finals with the Pistons from ’88 to ’90, was part of the iconic Bad Boys teams in Detroit and was one of the league’s most popular players at the time. However, when a fan on X (formerly Twitter) questioned why the movie’s central character, Kevin McCallister, displayed a Thomas poster in his Chicago-area home, Thomas fired back with the perfect response.

“I’m not sure how old you are? 89-90 I was back to back champion with the Detroit Pistons, Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, where a street is named after my mother MARY THOMAS Lawndale, Garfield, Austin is where I lived in Chicago,” Thomas wrote.

As the holiday season approaches and Home Alone appears on millions of televisions in the coming weeks, we wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas re-watched the movie with a different mindset.
