Nikola Jokic Had Classic Four-Word Reaction About ‘Money’ After Baffling Ejection vs. Bulls
Nuggets star Nikola Jokić stayed tight-lipped about his controversial ejection in Denver’s 114—106 win over the Bulls on Tuesday.
When probed about what exactly happened between him and referee Mousa Dagher, Jokić said, “I don’t know. It is what it is. I’m just happy that we didn’t play in Serbia. It could’ve been really fun to see how it would be handled.”
The two-time MVP added, “I crossed the line, but sometimes that word doesn’t cross the line. So, it is what it is… I like my money, so I’m not gonna say whatever.”
Jokić exchanged words with the NBA official during the second quarter after getting frustrated about a no-call on a Nuggets offensive play. The game's pool report stated that Jokić “directed profane language” at Dagher that “reached the standard for an ejection.”
Sans their big man, the Nuggets managed to come away with a hard-fought win in Chicago—on Serbian Heritage Night, nonetheless—and will play the Nets at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday.
