The NBA suspended Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely on Wednesday after he threw a punch at Suns center Jusuf Nurkić. The incident took place early in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s game in Phoenix, with Green earning a Flagrant 2 and an immediate ejection.

While the indefinite suspension might seem like a harsh punishment, it’s one that Green has apparently fully accepted and agreed with.

Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. spoke about the suspension and revealed that he and Green’s camp worked with the league to come up with the indefinite suspension, per ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.

Going one step further, Dunleavy said Green agreed with the punishment and that it was in place to help him.

Green appears to be taking the suspension in stride and understanding the magnitude of the situation thus far, at least according to Dunleavy’s comments. The Warriors general manager also explained that Green will still be around the team during the suspension and that they’re “not seeing the guy off,” according to Andrews.

There’s no estimated timeline for when Green will return to practice or game action. Still, it seems the focus is on helping the 33-year-old however needed and avoiding any more incidents going forward.
