Well, that aged poorly.

Celtics guard Jaylen Brown poked the bear.

During the third quarter of Tuesday’s matchup between Boston and the Warriors, Brown drew an and-one after knocking down a bucket over Golden State star Steph Curry.

Brown immediately unleashed the “too small” celebration to taunt Curry as the Celtics built a double-digit lead. Boston’s social media team proceeded to post Brown’s jeer to all platforms.

Well, that post backfired. The Warriors outscored the Celtics by 11 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime, and Curry gave the Celtics the “night night” treatment with a 25-foot dagger in the final minute to secure Golden State’s 132–126 win.

After the game, NBA fans logged onto X (formerly Twitter) to blast the Celtics for prematurely posting that photo of Brown’s viral taunt.

The Warriors and Celtics match up again March 3 at TD Garden in Boston. We’ll see if Brown learned his lesson by then.
