During this season of giving, two players from Pistons collaborated to give more than a dozen Michigan families a fantastic holiday surprise.

Marvin Bagley III and Alec Burks announced Wednesday that they were partnering with Michigan First Credit Union to pay off the loan balances of 18 lucky local families. Bagley began the evening by going bowling with the recipients of his generosity, then surprised them after with the announcement that he and Burks (who could not attend the event) would be paying off their debts, more than $80,000 in total. The revelation left those in attendance stunned.

The Pistons, who have lost 24 games in a row, haven’t given fans many reasons to smile this season, but what Bagley and Burks did for those families was better than anything they could have done on the court.
