Raptors’ Pascal Siakam Considers One Potential Trade Partner As Bad Fit, per Report
Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam is a prime candidate to be moved ahead of next month’s trade deadline. As rumors continue to percolate regarding where he could end up, the 29-year-old reportedly views one franchise as a poor fit.
According to a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings are a team that Siakam does not view as a great long-term fit. Sources told Amick that the Kings should “have very little, if any” optimism that Siakam would consider re-signing this offseason if he were to be traded to Sacramento.
Siakam has yet to ask for a trade, and it is unknown if that request will come ahead of the trade deadline, and subsequently, ahead of his impending free agency.
Toronto is currently 15–22 on the season and sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. With the Raptors currently outside of playoff contention, trading a star player with value ahead of free agency like Siakam seems like the prudent choice, especially after they sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks in December.
In 37 games this season, Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest on 52.5% shooting from the field.
