NBA Announces Starting Lineups for 2024 All-Star Game
NBA All-Star weekend is quickly approaching as we’ve surpassed the halfway point of the 2023-24 season.
On Thursday, the league announced the starting lineups for this year’s All-Star Game, which will be played under the classic Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference format.
The starting lineups are determined in part by the selection of fans, who make up 50% of the vote, as well as panels of current NBA players and media members, which account for 25% each.
Starting for the East will be Milwaukee Bucks stars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum.
As for the Western Conference, there are some familiar names in the starting lineup, including Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who made NBA history by surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star selections of all time (20).
The West will trot out a starting lineup consisting of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, as well as James.
The 2024 All-Star Game will be held on Feb. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers, who will have a player in this year’s starting lineup, the first time a Pacers player has been an All-Star starter since Paul George in 2016.
