Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards helped carry his team to an important victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, but he took issue with the game’s officiating in the aftermath.

On the sideline after the win, cameras caught Edwards bashing the officials, calling them “cheating ass refs.”

He didn’t stop there, either. During his on-court postgame interview, Edwards said he was willing to accept whatever fine was coming his way before unloading on the referees.

“I don’t know. And I’m gonna take the fine, because the refs did not give us no calls tonight. We had to play through every bump, every grab. I don’t know. I don’t know how we won tonight. Big shoutout to my team, big shoutout to my coaches, for sure,” said Edwards to Lea B. Olsen of Bally Sports.

In terms of the game’s foul disparity, Minnesota was whistled for 19 fouls compared to 17 against the Thunder. Oklahoma City attempted 22 free throws, including 16 from star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while the Timberwolves took 15 foul shots.

Edwards made all four of his free throw attempts in the game and dropped a team-high 27 points to go with four assists and four rebounds.

Despite a 107–101 win that sees the T-Wolves surge to the top of the Western Conference, the 22-year-old couldn’t help but voice his displeasure with the officiating on Monday.
