Rajon Rondo Arrested on Misdemeanor Gun, Drug Charges, per Report
Former NBA guard Rajon Rondo was arrested Sunday for suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana, WDRB-TV reported on Monday night. All the charges are misdemeanors.
Rondo was pulled over for a traffic violation in Jackson County, Ind., and the Indiana State Police subsequently officer smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle.
Indiana State Police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Wheeles told WDRB that a gun, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in Rondo’s car. Rondo then was taken to a Jackson County jail, where he immediately posted bond.
Rondo, 37, is not allowed to possess a firearm because of a no-contact order filed against him in 2022.
The four-time All-Star played 16 seasons in the NBA for nine different teams and won two NBA titles, one with the Boston Celtics and one with the Los Angeles Lakers. He last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2021-22 season.
