Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren Highlight NBA Rising Stars Roster

The league unveiled the participants in its annual showcase of rookies and sophomores.

To make it to the All-Star Game in the NBA, you first have to master the Rising Stars Challenge.

The event, designed to showcase the league's rookies and sophomores, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Virtually every superstar to pass through the league in the last three decades has graced the Rising Stars Challenge with their presence—Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant dropped 31 in the 1997 event in Cleveland, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James scored 33 in the 2004 game in Los Angeles, and so on.

Now, it's San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder centers Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren to make their marks. The likely Rookie of the Year winner and runner-up headlined a star-studded roster of players released by the league Tuesday afternoon.
