TNT’s Kevin Harlan Concerned Over FCC Violation After Viral Moment in Celtics-Pacers Telecast
TNT NBA basketball play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan couldn’t help but joke about a potential FCC violation in the wake of an ad read for an upcoming video game during the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s telecast between the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers.
“’Metropolis has been invaded and you must face the very heroes who once protected it. Do the impossible in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,‘” said Harlan, reading the copy and then interjecting.
“Can I say that? ‘When it launches on February 2nd,’” he quipped before finishing the ad read as analyst Reggie Miller chuckled.
“You said it,” Miller replied.
“I feel like I’ve broken an FCC rule!” Harlan replied without missing a beat.
Harlan, the consummate professional, got a good laugh out of the ad read in a very professional NBA telecast. One of the most iconic play-by-play announcers of the generation showed once again why he is versatile and one of the best there is.
NBA fans certainly enjoyed the exchange between Harlan and Miller. Here are some of the best reactions on X:
