Over the last week, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has intentionally banked in a three-pointer and kissed a free-throw attempt off the glass.

So, what’s the next on-court challenge for the 22-year-old star?

“Left-handed jumper,” Edwards said after the Timberwolves’ 128–91 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. “It’s coming soon.”

Before the game Thursday at Moda Center, Edwards, who shoots right-handed, was seen practicing left-handed jump shots from deep during pregame warmups.

He drained two of his three attempts.

“If we up in the fourth by 20-plus [points] and I know I’m coming out of the game, I’m taking a left-handed trey ball,” Edwards told reporters. “It’s coming. Be on the lookout for it.”

What if that shot attempt upsets Timberwolves coach Chris Finch, though?

“I mean, I’m going to come out anyway,” Edwards said with a laugh. “I might as well give him a reason to take me out.”

Edwards is set to make his second All-Star Game appearance at the NBA’s annual showcase this weekend. That exhibition just might be the perfect stage to test out his new self-appointed left-handed challenge.
