The Detroit Pistons will be operating without forward Isaiah Stewart for the near future.

The NBA announced Thursday that Stewart was suspended three games for initiating an altercation with Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks before the Suns’ 116–100 win over Detroit on Feb. 14.

Stewart, 22, was found to have “punched and pushed Eubanks during the altercation,” per the league. The incident resulted in Stewart’s arrest and citation for assault by the Phoenix Police Department.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the assault charge was dismissed, according to a filing in the Phoenix Municipal Court.

The Pistons are in the throes of one of the worst seasons in franchise history. They entered the All-Star break with a record of 8–46, which would outpace the 1979-80 Pistons, who currently hold the franchise’s worst all-time single-season record at 16–66.

Despite this, Stewart has averaged a respectable 11 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his fourth season in the league.

Eubanks, primarily a reserve, has averaged 5.7 and 4.3 rebounds per game for Phoenix in his sixth year in the NBA.
