Throughout the day on Wednesday, reports slowly trickled in about the Team USA basketball roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. While nothing is set in stone just yet, many high-profile names who said they would be open to suiting up this summer are getting the nod.

The latest group of names mentioned as “strong” candidates include two big men, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis and Miami Heat standout Bam Adebayo, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Joe Vardon reported. The latter was a member of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal team.

It was also reported that two likely future faces of the NBA, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton, are “under strong consideration” for the Paris Games. Both players were on USA’s 2023 World Cup team, and the duo highlighted the top performers from that group. Edwards averaged 18.9 points per game, and Haliburton posted 8.6 points and 5.6 assists, with the third-highest efficiency on Team USA.

Earlier in the day, the initial group reported by The Athletic featured a core of superstars in Kevin DurantLeBron JamesStephen CurryJoel Embiid and Jayson Tatum. It was also revealed that Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday and Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, both members of the 2020 Olympic team, are expected to be part of the core roster.
