Klay Thompson Ripped Rockets Bench Player for ‘Lame’ Attempt at Trolling With T-Shirt
Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason clearly poked the bear when he wore a T-shirt that said, "Warriors, Come Out to Play," a nod to the 1979 film, as well as a troll attempt at the Golden State Warriors, who are jockeying with Eason's team for positioning in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Well, come out and play the Warriors did, as they defeated the Rockets 133-110 at the Toyota Center on Thursday night. After the game, Golden State guard Klay Thompson had some pointed words for Eason, calling his troll attempt "pretty lame," per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
"That’s pretty lame. Especially if you’re not even playing. Like it's one thing if you're playing, you're out there competing. But you’re just gonna be trolling from the sideline. Bro, what are we doing?" Thompson said.
Clearly, Thompson and the Warriors took exception to the fact that Eason, sidelined due to season-ending leg surgery in early March, wasn't out on the court to back up his smack talk. The Warriors, who moved four games up on the Rockets for possession of the final spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, likely didn't need the added motivation Eason provided, but it certainly didn't hurt.
Golden State, 42-34, has a magic number of two to clinch a playoff spot with six games remaining on the regular season schedule.
