With a torn meniscus in the rearview mirror, Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns appears ready to return to play.

Towns is targeting a comeback in one of the Timberwolves' final three regular season games, according to a Wednesday morning report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Minnesota visits the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday before hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Towns has not played since the Timberwolves' 119-114 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on March 4.

His absence is one of the few blemishes on what otherwise has been one of Minnesota's most memorable seasons. The Timberwolves can tie their 2004 team record of 58-24 as the best ledger in team history if they sweep their last three games.

Minnesota is currently first in the Western Conference, and would play one of the Suns, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers or Golden State Warriors in the playoffs if the season ended today.

Towns, a four-time All-Star, is averaging 22.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season.
