Kevin Harlan is known as one of the best commentators in the business, but even he may have outdone himself with one of the calls he made during Thursday's broadcast of the New Orleans Pelicans' 135-123 win over the Sacramento Kings on TNT.

With under a minute remaining in the game, one of the 17,832 fans in attendance at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento decided to throw a chicken wing onto the court, prompting Harlan to go into improvisational mode, something he does better than any announcer around.

Here's Harlan's call of the moment in all its amusing and exciting glory.

"Somebody's thrown something onto the floor, 46 seconds to go and a whistle blew. It's a chicken wing! Why would someone throw something that good out on the floor? It's crispy, it's warm, and I almost had to go out and get it, I'm so hungry!" Harlan exclaimed as an official ran onto the court to retrieve the wing.

Harlan then finished up the brilliant call by saying that he hoped the official would get to eat the wing.

From bringing new life to ad reads to calling a streaker running out onto the field during the Super Bowl, no one goes off script better than Harlan.
