The Philadelphia 76ers imploded in tremendous fashion in the final minute of Game 2 against the New York Knicks on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

The ending took just about everybody by surprise, including the 76ers' broadcast crew. NBC Sports Philadelphia play-by-play announcer Kate Scott and color analyst Alaa Abdelnaby were roasted on social media for their premature celebratory remarks as the Sixers clung to a five-point lead with 47 seconds to play.

"The goal is getting homecourt advantage by winning one of the two games on the road. Job done. Let's head down to the turnpike," Abdelnaby said.

"Stay tuned, postgame live is going to be fun," Scott added.

What happened next was preposterous. Knicks guard Jalen Brunson hit a corner three to cut the 76ers' lead to two. Philadelphia turned over the inbounds pass, Knicks wing Donte DiVincenzo missed a three, center Isaiah Hartenstein cleaned the glass with an offensive rebound and the ball eventually found DiVincenzo again, who buried the decisive triple to put the Knicks ahead for good.

As anticipated, the 76ers broadcast team was eviscerated for their comments in a five-point game with less than a minute to go.

Here are some of the best reactions to the unfortunate call:
