The Philadelphia 76ers have a representative in the 2023 NBA Dunk Contest for the first time since 2006. Earlier this week, the league officially confirmed the four participants in this year’s event, which included the two-way guard Mac McClung.

When it was first reported that McClung had accepted the invitation to participate in the contest, he was signed with the Sixers’ NBA G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Therefore, McClung was set to make history by becoming the first-ever G League player to participate in the competition.

With McClung inking a two-way contract with Philly, he’ll don Sixers threads for the first time this weekend, and becomes Philadelphia’s first Dunk Contest representative since their former first-round pick, Andre Iguodala.

McClung joins several former Sixers with the honor of participating, including Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse, Tim Perry, Clarence Weatherspoon, Shelton Jones, and Julius Erving.

Plan on tuning in to see McClung compete? Here’s everything you need to know!
