Daryl Morey made a flurry moves to reshape the Philadelphia 76ers' roster at the trade deadline, but he didn't stop there. He also went out and added a former All-Star to the roster in the buyout market.

After parting ways with the Charlotte Hornets, Kyle Lowry opted to sign a free agent deal with his hometown team. Along with having multiple homecomings, he is looking to be a key member of the supporting cast.

Following the All-Star break, Lowry had a chance to get a full practice in with his new team on Wednesday. When the action wrapped up, the former champion spoke to the media for the first time since signing with the Sixers.

Lowry fielded a lot of questions about the team's stars. He had high praise for Maxey for his attitude on and off the court.

“He has a great spirit. He has a great joy about himself. His overall professionalism, his overall aura is good," Lowry told reporters after practice. "He’s always happy, always energized, always special. You don’t get a chance to be around many guys like that.”

As he approaches his 38th birthday, Lowry is not the high-impact player he once was. However, he can still provide value as a leader. Aside from getting to play in Philly again, Lowry cited helping Maxey and Joel Embiid grow as a reason for signing with the Sixers.

“It was an opportunity to play for a great team, with great players. It’s an exciting time,” Lowry continued

With roughly 30 games to go on the schedule, Lowry now has to help the Sixers prepare for their playoff push. His work will begin on Thursday, as he is expected to make his debut against the New York Knicks
