On Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers' trio of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris made history with their performance against the Toronto Raptors. Aside from their collective achievement of scoring 90+ points, the young guard also cemented his name next to a pair of Hall of Famers.

When the Sixers first drafted Maxey, most knew the capabilities he had as a scorer. However, growing as a facilitator is something he'd work tirelessly on when reaching the NBA. He became the team's full-time point guard during the Ben Simmons saga but moved off the ball again when the team traded for James Harden

Now that Harden is gone, Maxey is once again the lead guard for the Sixers. He's taken this in full stride when it comes to both scoring and playmaking. Along with having one of the biggest PPG increases in the league, he's also dishing out a career-high 6.8 APG.

In 41 minutes against the Raptors, Maxey posted a stat line of 33 points, four rebounds, and ten assists. With this performance, he joins the small group of Sixers players to record at least 30 points and ten assists in a game at age 23 or younger. Some of the other names on the list include Hall of Famers Allen Iverson and Charles Barkley. Jrue Holiday and Ben Simmons also achieved this feat during this time in Philly.

Friday marked the fourth time this season that Maxey notched double-digit assists in a game. Prior to this year, he had only done once in his career. That was during the 2021-22 season in a game against the LA Lakers.

Maxey's development was always on the fast track, but he continues to put together a breakout season this year. With another dominant performance under his belt, the young guard is building a strong case to being named an All-Star.
