76ers Add Key Players to Injury Report vs. Miami Heat
The Philadelphia 76ers made it clear they would prioritize health during the final stretch of the regular season. As the Sixers are now locked into the third seed in the Eastern Conference, the only incentive to win games is to continue establishing a rhythm.
But if players aren’t one hundred percent, then they shouldn’t be playing. Therefore, a couple of setbacks could leave the Sixers shorthanded on Thursday when they face the Miami Heat.
Along with the starting guard Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers added PJ Tucker and De’Anthony Melton to their injury report. Both Melton and Tucker are listed as questionable.
According to the report, they are both dealing with right calf tightness.
Lately, Sixers center Joel Embiid has been battling calf tightness. Fortunately, he only missed one game as a result. While the setbacks for Melton and Tucker don’t seem too concerning, they could get a night off on Thursday as the Sixers enter a back-to-back set.
After Philly faces the Heat on Thursday, they’ll pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
Right now, it’s unclear who will get the night off on Thursday and Friday. As Thursday’s matchup approaches, the Sixers could compete without three key rotational pieces such as Maxey, Melton, and Tucker.
