76ers Playoff Watch: Miami Heat Lose Tyler Herro vs. Bucks

The Miami Heat lost their star guard Tyler Herro in Sunday's matchup against the Bucks.

Sunday’s Game 1 matchup between the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks left both teams dealing with significant injuries. In the first quarter, the Bucks lost their MVP-caliber big man Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he injured his back on a hard fall.

As for the Miami Heat, they lost their veteran sharpshooter Tyler Herro in the second quarter of the matchup. After diving for a loose ball, Herro started favoring his right hand as he was clearly in pain.

At halftime, the Heat ruled Herro out for the remainder of the matchup. When he left the court, the veteran guard had scored 12 points in 19 minutes.

After the game, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra didn’t hesitate to rule out Herro for Game 2 of the series. He also confirmed the diagnosis that was reported.

According to ESPN, Herro was diagnosed with a broken hand. Miami confirmed that Herro would miss Game 2. While they won’t offer an official timeline for Herro’s injury just yet, Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report reports that Herro will miss the next four-to-six weeks.

The loss of Herro is notable for Miami. In 67 games this season, Herro has averaged 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal. The veteran shot an efficient 38 percent from deep on eight attempts per game.
