76ers Potential Buyout Target Signs With Western Conference Team

Following the trade deadline, the Philadelphia 76ers found themselves with a pair of open roster spots. This makes them a prime target to acquire players on the buyout market. Teams are already starting to make moves, as one possible signee is heading to the Western Conference.
Spencer Dinwiddie was one of the many players who got moved Thursday, being traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Toronto Raptors. Not long after he was acquiring, the journeyman point guard was waived.
Dinwiddie was a potential target for the Sixers, but he is now off the board. After being spotted behind the LA Lakers' bench Friday night, he has signed with them through the rest of the season.

Dinwiddie has bounced around the league in recent years, having stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks. Before being traded this season, he was posting averages 12.6 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 6.0 APG.
With Patrick Beverley and Jaden Springer being traded Thursday, the Sixers are in the market to bolster their guard depth. They'll now have to pivot from Dinwiddie as he's found a new home.
As for other possible buyout targets, Kyle Lowry remains the biggest name tied to the Sixers. After being traded to the Charlotte Hornets earlier this year, the former All-Star is expected to reach a buyout. Recent developments have suggested that a deal could be worked out within the next 24-48 hours.

Lowry, a Philly native, has always wanted to return to his hometown team. The veteran point guard appeared in 37 games for the Miami Heat this season before being dealt. In that time, he averaged 8.2 PPG and 4.0 APG while shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc.
