The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat will battle it out for Game 7 on Monday.

For the second time this postseason, the Boston Celtics will battle it out in a do-or-die Game 7 matchup. During the second round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics found success in Game 7 and put the Philadelphia 76ers away to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

On Monday night, they’ll see if they can find the same success.

The Eastern Conference Finals battle between the Celtics and the Miami Heat has been quite the roller coaster. When the series first got started, Jimmy Butler and the Heat showed up on the road and fired off two shocking wins, which helped the Heat acquire the home-court advantage.

In their first game at home for the series, the Heat continued producing wins as they went up 3-0 over the Celtics. At that point, it seemed it would be a matter of when and not if the Heat advance to the 2023 NBA Finals.

However, the Celtics haven’t made life easy for Miami. In the second game down in South Beach, the Celtics managed to pick up their first win of the series. There wasn’t a gentleman’s sweep in the cards for Miami, as the Celtics issued them a beatdown last Thursday at TD Garden.

When the series went back to Miami for the final time, the Heat went from trailing by double-digits to climbing back and taking a lead within the final seconds of the matchup. Although the Celtics’ final three-point attempt to take the lead was unsuccessful, a tip-in from Derrick White got off in time to give Boston a one-point lead, which allowed the Celtics to tie up the series.

Now, both teams face a do-or-die situation on Monday night. Can the Heat finally pull off the upset and become the first eighth seed to reach the NBA Finals since 1999? Or will the Celtics make it two seasons in a row by defeating Miami en route to the NBA Finals?
